Cranberry Orange Chocolate Scones

I’m fiercely loyal to baking recipes I can trust. When I found the “best ever scones” recipe from Southern Living a few years ago, I knew I’d discovered something special. It has become my go-to scone recipe. I mistakenly thought homemade scones would be too hard to make, but they are not. I have baked scones in the morning before an early tailgate. I’ve even brought scones on the road.

Click on over to Betty Joyce Mill’s scone recipe. Then you can have fun and add your own variations. I use Mill’s basic recipe and add dark Valrhona chocolate, dried cranberries, orange zest, a drop of all natural orange oil. Pair with a hot cup of coffee (or a mimosa). Simple!
